Lovina Celebrating Earth Day 2009 at Spice Beach Kaliasem together with the Rotary Club of Bali Lovina, The Coca Cola Company and The Reef Check Organization.

The Earth Day Celebration marked the beginning og a three year program in Lovina, where The Rotary Club of Bali Lovina, Reef Check and Coca Cola will work together in organizing better “garbage management” programs, along with regular beach and river clean ups and educational programs in schools.

President Conchita said

"It is to commemorate how important the mother earth is to us; our earth gives us everything we need to live and so much more. It gives us life with the air we breathe, water to drink, cook and wash with; it feeds us ; it is our home. What we the people give back to Mother Earth however is pollution and that is why we are here together today; to join hands and to start a change that will benefit us all now and in the future."

Spice Beach in Kaliasem was the venue for the big celebration commemorating Earth Day 2009 on April 24. School children assisedt in cleaning up the rivers and beaches and learnt about keeping our environment clean. Drawing and painting competions, games, performances and snacks made it a busy day.

The celebrations were organized at Spice Beach by The Rotary Club of Bali Lovina and the Reef Check organization with the event being sponsored by The Coca Cola Company.
