INTRODUCTION
Background: Deforestation and the changing of farming from crops to flowers have leading to big problems in the northern part of Bali . Because of the different crop root systems and because of severe drought soil erosion is becoming an issue.
For the Lovina area the drying out of the big water wells in the Munduk, (that are largely responsible for all the water in the area) are having devastating consequences.
For over five years one of the Rotary Club of Bali Lovina members has worked on setting up a pilot project for the Munduk area. The project is meant to show and convince farmers to change farming crops from flowers to coffee and to replant indigenous trees in an endeavour to help them financially to overcome the loss of income before the new crops harvest.
