Window to the World Educational Centre, Lovina
Background:
All children in this world deserve a good education. Window to the World offers an educational program that is focused on filling gaps in the Education Program. The project runs a kindergarten and an extended educational program for children between the ages of 4 to 18. The philosophy behind the project is that all children should get the support they need to achieve their own full potential!
Current situation: The Rotary Club of Bali Lovina supports “Window to the World” by raising funds for specific projects, like the school bus and a playground.
A school bus for the Window to the World projects.
Background: Over the 8 years that the Window to the World project has been operating in Lovina approximately1000 children have benefited from the kindergarten education and/or the extended education program. However children living in the mountainous regions of Lovina have been disadvantaged because of the costs of transportation and the distance.
Current situation: Rotary Club of Bali Lovina raised funds for a school bus for the “ Window to the World ” school, as it is the objective of the Window to the World school, that “ all children of the Lovina area are able to have the opportunity to an education they deserve”.
Commencing July 14 2008, the bus will operate a service to transport children to and from the school.

Future project: a Playground for the Window to the World Kindergarten.
The playground of the Window to the World kindergarten is just a dirt field. It is uneven and rocky; muddy when it is raining and dusty when it is not. Rotary Club of Bali Lovina has plans to raise funds for a proper playground school. With assistance from individual sponsors and the Rotary Club of Beaverton, Oregon in the USA this goal will be achieved in 2008.
A library for children at Lovina Beach
The Rotary Club Bandung Kembang and Rotary Club of Hilversum West (NL) organized the “100 Pondok Baca Project”. The project commenced in 2006; 100 small libraries for children were set up all over Indonesia .
With the help of many people the Rotary Club of Bali Lovina was able to sell copies of “A nak dalam hatiku Anak dalam diriku” a book produced especially for this project. Kaliasem has now its own “Pondok Baca library” and every afternoon between 12:30 and 17:30 children between the ages of 6 and 18 come to play, read and learn.
