On September the 26th 2007 Robin Lim founder of the “Bumi Sehat” foundation came as a guest speaker to Rotary Club of Bali Lovina to speak about the work of the Bumi Sehat Foundation.

Mission of the Bumi Sehat Foundation

Our passion is to see a reduction in maternal and child morbidity and mortality, and, to support the health and wise development of communities. Toward this goal, we provide general health services, emergency care, prenatal, postpartum, birth services and breastfeeding support, in addition to education and environmental programs. Yayasan Bumi Sehat is devoted to working in partnership with people to improve quality of life and to improve peace.

Robin Lim has been working in the field of mother and child care on Bali for many years. Working hard on making giving birth and nursing children a better, healthier experience for the whole family; she put pen to paper and wrote a booklet especially for “the papas”. Asi Eksklusif Dong! - This booklet, written and designed here at YBS, is in Indonesian, and covers why and how women should breastfeed their babies. In Indonesian, "Asi Eksklusif Dong" translates to "Mother's breastmilk only of course!".

The development and printing of the book was sponsored by the Australian Government Direct Aid Program (DAP).

Now fathers can read and learn about taking care of their young families with a strong emphasize on the crucial need of mothers milk for babies, instead of (the now very popular but harmful) formula milk powder.

RC Lovina collects the booklets from the Ubud based “Bumi Sehat Foundation” and delivers them to a small group of co-operating midwives in the Lovina area. The message of the “Bumi Sehat Foundation” can this way reach a much greater area!

The spreading of the booklets will be an ongoing project for the Rotary Club Bali Lovina, and will be evaluated every six months to see if it is still running successfully.
