Our speaker for today was our own member, Hansjoerg Schaefer.

 He is an architect from Switzerland who moved to Bali a few years ago. He had his own house built here, and in the talk he shared with us some of the things he learned during this time.  

The issues varied, touching on the dangers of rivers estuaries, problems with foundations where there has been landfill, the sand quality for concrete, how the underfloor plumbing should be designed, getting electricity connected, and more.  In fact the list was so long that he ended up running short of time - but the talk contained plenty of good advice.
