Our guestspeaker today is Nadia Bertrand who is from Canada. She studied art at the university of Quebec Montreal. Over ten years ago she became a travelling artist, trading pieces of art for meals and places to stay! The idea started when she was a student and broke a tooth. She could have the tooth repaired by the dentist for a painting, and even got money back. She came to Lovina because when she was in the south of Bali, she heard about ‘Sail Indonesia’. So she decided to make the trip to Lovina to see if there were some art loving sailors who would like to take her on board. Well she didn't manage a yacht trip to anywhere, but did meet many sailors. She told us about her journey, giving many anecdotes of the negotiations with a particular hotel or busniess.
She shows photos of her artworks on her blog at http://http://nadiabertrand.blogspot.com and you can see the dates and the places - but no furhter comentary since the paintings speak for themselves.
While in Lovina she stayed at Mega Ayu Homestay and painted a large work for the homestay.
